I hereby pledge my allegiance to the Re-Halloweening of America Movement. All Hail the Great Pumpkin.

Fred is now in preschool at a local church (I know, I never thought that would happen, let alone the piggy bank I just started for Catholic elementary!) and it is by far the best in the area, but they LOVE to confuse me.  They had a day where each class got to have their parents come and participate in the Fall Fun Fest with them.  The 'not Halloween' was highly stressed.  So I laid off letting her wear her Hello Kitty Halloween gear and had to go by regular socks, since ALL of hers are Halloween socks! Well, we get there and we go into the gymnasium and there are Jack-o-lanterns, bats, spiders, ghosts, and a haunted house made out of cardboard.  Let alone 10 kids with pirate skulls and cute vampire t-shirts.  WTH?  I've deprived my little pumpkin of her Halloween wardrobe and telling her not to talk about Mommy's cemetary (which I did get up and had to take down due to the windstorms yesterday) or that her house is full of skeltons.  All because they stressed no Halloween.  The lesson plan that was emailed on Sunday described all the fun HALLOWEEN activities planned for this week.....and I just feel silly.  So, Monday, I dressed her in last years too small HK top and sent her on her way.

This is all brought on by another blogger known as Snarky.  And I am declaring my allegiance to her movement so futhur fiasco's no longer have to happen.  Please check out her blog and her attempt to Save Halloween.

Month One and the Halloween slump.

So, Squish sleeps pretty well, does a great impression of Supergirl with a squishy face while stretching, and has cute baby farts.  Fred is loving pre-school and soccer.  She loves her sister and is taking any frustration she is having out on me.  Poor Chris puts up with our fighting well, but even he has realized the four year old can not be the boss.  But as someone said to me the other night, she can yell and fight with me, but not take it out on the baby. So, for Christmas, I would like a bullet proof vest that can deflect all the hurtful things coming my way out of Fred's mouth.

I'm having the Halloween Blues continue.  I only have about 1/4 of my decorations out, the tombstones are sitting out in the driveway, and my spider skirt is on back order.  I just can't seem to find my feet.  I can say that I can see my feet again, and I'm back down to the weight pre-baby, but I sure am flabby which is bringing me back down.  It will all be ok once I can hide under sweaters....but it was 90 here yesterday.
I have been walking Squish around the neighborhood despite the heat to try and keep my metabolism moving.  I would like to loose 15 more lbs while I'm breastfeeding...so I've got another six months or longer! But I would like to have one pair of jeans fit without falling down or creating some serious muffin top.
