WEBN Fireworks

I get the good view this year....and AC...and beer...and I can use the restroom....not in a plastic box!  More pictures throughout the night! (approx 5pm photos above!)

UPDATE:  My camera did not take pictures of the fireworks well.  So I don't have any.  But you can of course go to WEBN and see them!  It was a fantastic view. I lost my voice for most of the next day since I like to scream and yell during fireworks!

Tomestones

Here is our pumpkin!  I think she is 4 or 5 lbs.  She is well protected from the squirrels on the porch.
My Father-in-Law dropped by some extra styrofoam and wood to add to the pile for our tombstones.
Here is Jack the Pumpkin King's stone.  He dies on Nov 2nd and re-emerges on Oct 30th...every year.
Here in the 3D tombstone I'm working on.  I'm out of liquid nails!

No Camera, but here's what we've been up to!

Cookout with 5-7 little ones running around, swimming (Fred too..finally), playing in dirt, playing with toys and ending the evening watching the Addams Family.

Pre-Halloween scouting for goodies at Michaels and Garden Ridge.  Pizza at Cici's!  That led to observations of eastgate- can we say...redneck?  Bad 80's? Those clothes don't fit that little girl?!?!?!

Watching the morning glories in the morning.  Moonflowers at night.  Our tall sunflowers are taking off!  Our pumpkin is completely orange.  Watching the leaves fall out of the tulip tree (yes it's August and my front yard is covered in leaves!)

We made a Halloween broom to use as part of our decorations this year.  And we will use it daily afterwards!  Stenciling rats to go on the walls.  Thank you Martha Stewart for the idea!  I bought one pack and some cardstock so we can have them all over the house!

I would love to have pictures, but our camera is truly, truly dead.  Perhaps we'll make a gravestone for it.

Once upon a time....

from a land far, far away, the binky fairy came to visit Fred last night.  Only the binky fairy forgot where she stashed her prize and little Fred ripped apart binky fairies drawers and found her precious treasure.

So tonight, we summoned the binky fairy before we went to eat, made it through dinner, back home to play and never once even while refusing to go to sleep, did Fred ask where her 'mine' was.  And now she sleeps, the binky fairy has carried off the little pink addicting plug to her little safe place called the freezer pole.  The binky fairy is kind enough (in case there is major meltdown or injury) to leave the binky in a hidden place, close by, with possible anticipation of major reasons for it to return.  This is night one. By Friday night, if all is well, the binky fairy will place her prize in a special box, only to be opened by our dear little Fred....when she is having her own little bambino.  In the box, it will say 'my precious'.

Bath Bomb trial #1

I received my citric acid today in the mail, along with two scents - appleberry spice and pumpkin spice crunch. A little more fragrant than I thought, so I need to do this with the windows open.  I mixed 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup citric acid, added a little food coloring (I don't have the proper color powders yet) but it works just the same.  I made two large bombs, and two small bombs using plastic molds (my stainless steel molds are not in yet!).  I had a few bubbles and a one fell apart into two pieces, but they will work nonetheless.  I think I like doing this, but I'm going to have to order a larger pail of both baking soda and citric acid if I want to sell/give away as gifts, but I see myself getting into this.  I may try a baby oil bomb tomorrow.

Sorry no pics, my camera is DEAD. I will update when I get access to a camera.

I think I broke my camera.

I was getting ready to take a picture of my pumpkin (which is turning orange FAST!) and I dropped our camera.  It turns on for a second then dies.  We'll see if Chris can fix it.

Since Fred is at her Gramma's tonight, Chris's birthday is tomorrow, I've been cleaning and gardening.  I pulled up about 15 carrots!  They are fat and resemble the mandrakes from Harry Potter!!!  Screaming not included thankfully.  I was going to get a picture of that but.....

So, to leave everyone on a good note....

How to Learn to crochet.....

A few months ago, I started to learn to crochet. I recieve a great tutorial from a friend, but she couldn't stay with me for long periods of time to 'check my work'. So these are the results, left to my own will....

Below is the one night I spent in GA with my best friend who is an 'artist' in the fiber arts. So she helped alot. Not only is it square, I made a border. My first square washcloth. I am proud.
