Halloween, so far.

Bad pic, but here's our mantle.

This is the base of the Tombstones, with the 2x2 boards (Jack the Pumpkin King, 2x4) bases moutned via Liquid Nails.
The tombstone with the arrow will be the obvious 'Vacancy' tombstone.
The 3D tombstone (and the new table Grampa George rigged!)
And if you can pick it out,  there is the "Roar" or green skeleton ghost.  He is hanging from our Tulip tree (which after IKE, we KNOW has to come down next year....anyone know a tree guy?)

The leaves are falling, although they are no lush. The nights are cooler, the days are warm.  The spirits are coming to tell us what we need to know.  Listen on the 30th, Hear on the 31st, Learn on the 1st.  So Gramma, tell me what I need to know.  I'm calling you....

The Results of Hurricane IKE.

A total of 8 maple tree limbs.
Two bushes of unknown origin completely mamed.
And it was still a cool storm. Chris was out of town, Fred was with the grandparents (Scheper side), I almost got hit by a limb (twice).  So, when the power went out, Chris came home, and we traded candles (what else do you expect out of ex-goth kids to have on hand) for beer.  Chris and I stay up keeping the neighbors company, and guarding homes (fully loaded).  Put we were lucky, our power was on by midnight.  I wanna say 'Thank GAWD!' And I also want to yell at my mother, for not coming to stay here.  I love her, but sometimes, she's just silly.

Cincinnati had a hurricane folks.

Oh Sweet Sorrow...and Kersplat!!!!

Poor, poor pumpkin.  She didn't make it.  The cucumber beetles left too much of a dent, and hole through the back.  So, the inside started to rot, and one day a squirrel knocked her off the porch....and splat.  The End of the Pumpkin Girls first pumpkin....til next year!!!!

But we did harvest the seeds or next years patch!!!
